Flowing Hair (1794-1795)

After the Coinage Act of 1792 was enacted, the United States' first mint began operations in Philadelphia, which was the capital at the time, in 1793. The inaugural coin produced there was the Flowing Hair silver dollar. Its extremely limited production has rendered it one of the rarest and most sought-after coins among collectors today.
