Large (Oversized)
Large or Oversized notes refer to U.S. paper currency issued before 1929. About 50% larger than today's notes, they were nicknamed "Horseblankets" due to their size. These notes were issued in various types, including Legal Tender Notes, Silver Certificates, National Bank Notes, Treasury Notes, and Gold Certificates, and are frequently regarded as the most artistically designed notes in U.S. currency history.
