The 1883 (No Cents) Liberty Head Nickel was originally issued without the word "CENTS" on the reverse. Opportunists gold-plated the coins and passed them off as $5 gold pieces, now called "Racketeer Nickels." The word "CENTS" was later added to eliminate this problem. This coin is in FILLER condition, making it an affordable option for collectors.
